How to Make a BlueMap Marker

BlueMap markers can be made by any player. Please limit them to appropriate places and do not spam these markers.

Markers are made in the following format:

You'll probably need to refresh the map to see it. The top line contains the icon type, and the line below has the text you want to appear.

There are a few categories the marker can appear in, and each will have it's own 'folder' on the livemap to search inside. The list will only show ones in that dimension.

BlueMap Categories

'Other' is a catch-all that has all icon options. You can be less discerning where you make markers in 'Other', but we ask that you use the appropriate category for your base, shops, portals, and farms. Even if you want a custom icon for something near your base, make a [base] marker in addition to whatever 'Other' icon to keep it easy to search and filter.

More icon options for bases may be added later.

Base category

Please make a marker like this to list your base.

Shop category

[shop] icon

Use this marker to make your shop easy to find. You are allowed to use this outside of the shopping district, if you are selling something somewhere else.

Portal category

[portal] icon

Use to mark nether portals. You're not required to mark every portal you make, but you should label at least your base portal in the nether so people can find you easier.

[gateway] icon

This is just an icon variation for end portals and exit gateways in the end. Use in the overworld to mark end portals, in the end to mark exit gateways you find so people can find the closest way home.
